Ethereal State

With the desire to get back to nature in an increasingly artificial world this collection tells the story of Valarie who finds herself in a utopia while walking through a forest. As she walks she becomes one with the woodland. She finds that the forest is  filled with dark magic and wonderful creations only found in nature.

Everything seems to be alive and a bit strange. A sense of movement is expressed through pleats and flowing shapes. Silhouettes reflect the forest’s belongings; fungus, tree bark, flora and fauna. Vibrant pinks, stimulating greens and royal blues reflect the mood of this utopian woodland. Print is a key element in this collection, having bold multicoloured, abstract prints show  the weirdness of the forest and the transformation of Valarie. The prints represent the forest as a fairyland escape from reality.
